Our Sister Parish
The Church of St. Francis Xavier in Kiraeni, Tanzania, is a Catholic parish located in the Kilimanjaro region. It serves as a sister parish to the Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Redwood City, California, which has supported the Kiraeni community with funding for church roofing, medical supplies, and water storage. The parish is known for its vibrant, charismatic, and song-filled services.

The parish established a partnership with our parish in May 2009, driven by efforts to combat local poverty.
Supporters have helped fund school supplies, uniforms, and essential infrastructure for the village of roughly 5,000 people.
The relationship was largely inspired by Fr. Paulinus Mangesho, who grew up in the village and served at Our Lady of Mount Carmel for many years.
